SMAC Conference Championship (Round 2)

The St. Joseph golf team broke the school record by 14 shots on their way to a new low...343. The Bears were playing a difficult course in Angel's Crossing, but everyone stepped up their play to finish a solid 2nd place in the SMAC (behind #2 state ranked BC Lakeview). Hannah Grall led the Bears with a career low, 77. She ended up low score for the whole tournament on day 2 and moved up to 7th place overall for the 2-day tourney. She shot a 37 (+1) on the back 9 and missed the individual school record by one shot. Courtney Rooker followed with a career best 87, shooting 20 shots better than her previous match at Angel's Crossing. Jessie Fratzke bounced back from a 105 last Thursday to post an 88 and Rowan Conybeare rounded out the top 4 with a solid 91. Casey Singler and Emma Dine also had fine days..shooting 93 and 95 respectively. For Casey, the 93 is a new career low during a varisty match and she just missed all-Conference by 1 position (she finished 13th overall). Emma improved 12 shots from the last round at Angel's Crossing.
Finally, Hannah Grall, Jessie Fratzke, and Rowan Conybeare all made the All-Conference Team. This is the first year in the history of the SMAC that multiple players made the All-Conference team from St. Joseph.
